Will male circumcision protect women, ask advocates?

18 August 2008, (AIDSMap) - Male circumcision is the only HIV prevention intervention that does not offer some protection to both partners, and may actually put a man's sexual partner at greater risk of infection, argued the women's health advocate Marge Berer at the International AIDS Conference in Mexico City on August 7th.

18 August 2008, (Medical News Today) - The journal Science in its Aug. 15 issue examined the "intense scrutiny" that HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment received during last week's XVII International AIDS Conference in Mexico City. Mike Cohen of the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill at the conference said the two efforts "keep going to the altar," but "[t]hey never get married. They have to get married today."
